Personal Life
Harvey was brought up in Los Angeles. She pursued the Association of Arts in Communication and Media Studies at Los Angeles Valley College for two years. She joined this college only two months after the birth of her son.
Then, she enrolled at the California State University to study Broadcast Journalism. Finally, she graduated with an MS in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology from Mississippi State University in December 2023.
She has a 12-year-old son named Bryce Lockett. The mother-son duo currently resides in New York City.
Career
Star Harvey decided to pursue the profession of meteorologist due to a childhood experience. Growing up, she didn’t see the weather reporter belonging to her background on TV.
While she began pursuing higher studies, she worked in the respective field on other hand. Per LinkedIn, she started working in journalism in 2016. She first joined ABC7 Los Angeles as a News Assistant in October.
Worked there for two years and moved to Colorado to join Krex TV in October 2018. She worked for the TV station as a meteorologist for the next two years. There was a gap in her work experience throughout 2020 per LinkedIn.
In January 2021, she relocated to Houston to work as a meteorologist at KIAH-TV. She could work her dream job while pursuing relevant degrees online. Since April 2022, she has been working at PIX11 in New York in the same job role.
Apart from this, she recently made her debut as a children’s author by publishing a book named Shoot for the Stars.
