Personal Life
Though Moton was born in Salt Lake City, his family moved to Las Vegas when he was six. It was his father Curtis’ decision as he wanted his son to pursue the combat sport.
Upon joining a gym in Las Vegas, Curmel loved boxing and became determined to become a professional boxer. Though he began training in 2012, he started his amateur career in 2015 per Wikipedia.
His talent was recognized early by Floyd Mayweather. He trains at Mayweather Boxing Club and is guided by Mayweather himself.
One time I was sparring and I beat the dude up, he was crying and he didn’t want to come out for the next round. I heard they had to call Floyd on the phone to have him tell the kid to go and fight. I was about 10 at that time and Floyd maybe wondered who this little kid is that is making everyone cry. Then I started training there more regularly and I quickly fitted in because of my work ethic.

Career
Since debuting in 2015, Curmel Moton has showcased immersive skills inside the ring. He was initially sponsored by Mayweather who helped him in participating in various tournaments.
He stayed out of tournaments for a while when he was 13/14 due to an arm injury. As he almost recovered, the pandemic happened. He was forced to not participate in any events and only spent his time training at the gym.
Since things got normal, he continued his run and won numerous amateur tournaments. He was the 2022 USA Boxing Youth National Champion.
His last amateur fight was against Zaquin Moses on 25 March 2023. He lost the fight via SD. As per BoxRec, Comision de Box Distrito Federal suspended him until 23 September 2024.
He made his pro debut against Ezequiel Flores on 30 September 2023. He fought under the preliminary card of Canelo vs Charlo and won via KO in the first round. Later in November, he KO’d Hunter Turbyfill in round one.
So far in 2024, he fought against three boxers Anthony Cuba, Nikolai Buzolin, and Victor Vazquez. While he won via KO in two of them, he won via UD against Cuba. Thereby, his current boxing record stands at 5-0-0.
