Personal Life

Neita was naturally active as a kid. Her family supported her in pursuing this sport from a young age but her interest in running sparked after she watched the 2012 Summer Olympics.

She began training at the Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers Athletics Club at age 11.

She pursued fashion at Oakland College. Though she was good at sports, it was her interest when it came to education.

I might be good at sports and do it every day but when it comes to being creative or having an outlet, I’m interested in fashion. That has always been my thing.

She founded the Daryll Neita Athletics Community in 2024 to inspire aspiring young athletes. In May 2024, she hosted a sports day for 96 kids from 8 schools at Sutcliffe Park.

Career

Daryll Neita began competing in running competitions for more than a decade. Her first international event was the 2015 European Junior Championships where she was placed 4th after finishing a 100m race in 11.69 seconds.

Upon finishing 2nd in the 4x100m relay at the 2016 European Championships, she was selected for the 2016 Rio. Though she couldn’t make it semi-finals as an individual, she along with her teammates won bronze in 4x100m.

Her first gold medal was at the 2018 European Championships in 4x100m relay event. A year later, GB was placed 2nd in the 4x100m relay at the 2019 World Championships. At the 2021 Tokyo, she was placed 8th and her team won bronze in the 4x100m relay.

At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, she won bronze in the 100m race and was part of the 4x100m gold-winning team. In the same event, she achieved her 100m personal best of 10.90 seconds in the semi-finals.

In 2024, she participated at the European Championships, winning silver and gold in the 200 m and 4x100m relay respectively. She was placed 4th in the 100m race at the 2024 Paris.
