Career

Deborah Ayorinde made her acting debut while she was attending Howard University. She wrote, directed, and appeared in a short film and ended up winning the Paul Robeson Best Actress award.

In her early years, she received training from Penny Templeton, Vince Pisani, Vera Katz, and others. She also made theatre appearances such as Backslap, Peachtree Battle, Tea Party, Lost Son, etc.

As per IMDb, her debut appearance came with the TV series Meet the Browns in 2010. She mostly played guest roles in the first few years of her career such as Rochelle in Necessary Roughness, Officer Sullivan in Constantine, and a few more.

She secured a notable lead role in the Netflix TV series Luke Cage. Her appearance as Candace was seen in six episodes of the first season. She continued acting in True Detective (2018), The Village (2019), etc.
