Victor Alli is of Nigerian ethnic roots. He holds British nationality.
His parents relocated to England in the early 90s. In an interview with Financial Times, he revealed that his parents married in 1992 in London.
He grew up in the Eastern part of London with his two siblings. One of them is a sister named Ofure Faith. She is a musician and he has a brother who is a graphic designer turned footballer.
Early Life
Alli attended a music school where he learned to play drums. He initially thought of becoming a drummer for a music band.
He studied Theatre Arts at The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology between 2011 and 2013. Following this, he attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) from 2016 to 2019.
In 2012, he worked at the Finborough Theatre for three months during which he made a stage performance in the play Khadija is 18. Also, he worked as an actor at the Bush Theatre for a few months in 2016.
Career
Victor Alli made his debut with the short film The Line in 2014. He played Cassio in another short film False Men in 2016.
Upon enrolling at RADA, he made multiple stage appearances such as Richard III, Into the Woods, The Dramatist, Intimate Apparel, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, etc. His other theatrical performances are Ghost House at Vaults Theatre and The Glass Menagerie at Duke of York’s Theatre.
His first feature film performance was in Belfast in 2021. He played the small role of a Soldier. That year, he appeared in the TV series Grantchester and the short film Rhyme or Die.
He made numerous appearances in 2022 but his most notable performance came with the TV series Last Light as Owen Jones. In 2023, he voiced Adult Seng for the animated TV series Unicorn: Warriors Eternal.
He got a breakthrough for his role as Lord John Stirling in the TV series Bridgerton. His role was introduced in the third season where he appeared in seven episodes. He acted alongside famous film stars such as Hannah Dodd, Claudia Jessie, and Luke Newton.
