Personal Life
As Madueke belongs to an immigrant family, his parents wanted him to focus on education. However, he enjoyed playing football and joined a local club King George FC at a young age.
He actively played on Saturdays and took part in a few local tournaments. His performance was noticed by a Crystal Palace scout which enabled him to start his youth career at age 9.
Career
Noni Madueke started his youth career by joining Crystal Palace Academy in 2011. He spent three years at the club before joining Tottenham Hotspur in 2014. He was the captain of the club’s U16 team and made appearances in U18 games as well.
Chukwunonso made his national debut in 2017 by playing for England in a U16 game. The next year, he scored two goals against Denmark in a U17 qualifier game.
After four years with Hotspur, he joined the Dutch club PSV. Despite receiving a counteroffer from Tottenham and a contract from Man United, he rejected them to spend a few years in the Netherlands.
After a single season with PSV, he began his senior career by initially playing 6 games for Jong PSV and scoring 4 goals. He was transferred to the first team in January 2020 but scored his first goal for the club in the 2020-21 season.
In 2019, he played 9 games for England U18 and scored 4 goals. Since 2021, he has become a part of the U21 national team. To date, he scored 7 goals for the team in 20 appearances per Wikipedia.
After four years with PSV, he decided to leave the club by signing a 7 1/2-year contract with Chelsea. Since signing a new 4-year contract with PSV in 2021, he was transferred to Chelsea for a transfer fee of €33 million.
Though debuted for Chelsea in 2023, his standout performance for the club was a hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2024. To date, he appeared in 36 games and scored 9 goals for the club.
