Personal Life
Though Iskander was born in Egypt, his family relocated to the United States when he was about 9 years old. Prior to this, he couldn’t speak English properly and only learned the language after moving.
Growing up, acting wasn’t something he was keen on, nor did he think of pursuing it as a career. However, in his sophomore year, he auditioned for a choir for his friend’s sake. He passed the audition and eventually began appearing in musicals as well.
He graduated high school from Marina High School in California in 2021.
Career
Michael Iskander mostly made theatre performances so far. Initially, he appeared in the play In The Heights as Usnavi which got him a Best Actor in the Spirit at the M.A.C.Y. Awards in 2019. His other appearances include Legally Blonde, Mamma Mia, etc.
Following this, he earned some recognition for his Broadway debut Kimberly Akimbo in 2022. He acted as Aaron in the Tony Award for Best Musical-winning play.
Finally, he made his TV debut with the Prime Video series House of David in February 2025. Despite being his debut role, he played the lead role of David in all the episodes. He acted alongside notable actors such as Ethan Kai, Ayelet Zurer, Yali Topol Margalith, etc.
